Dear David,

How is everyone back home? We're having a good time,

although we're sleeping in rather unusual places, such as couches

and theater dressing room floors. We've seen some amazing things

out here, plus some good new ideas for our monitor and for whatever

graphics terminal we may get.

I'm also hereby resigning as spring semester 131 tutor.

It's going to be a difficult semester for me as it is, and I can't

afford to get into one of my depressions at the beginning of the

semester. Also, Tom Dinger may through no fault of his own

aggravate that condition. I'd suggest a replacement, but you're

closer to the possible candidates than I, so you should be able

to find one.

I am now a California licensed driver. The road test, for

which no appointment was necessary, didn't even have parallel parking

in it. It was primarily a traffic law test. After the test,

the examiner gives you a lecture about your driving, and if you pass,

you get your temporary license right away. You can ask him questions

either before or after the test. Very reasonable state, this.

Please dash off the reply to this letter right away,

since we'll be leaving in one and a half weeks.

				Thanks,
